CoomeChat Privacy Policy
CoomeChat has no accounts, so most of what a privacy policy usually covers does not exist here. This page says exactly what reaches us when you use the service, what happens to it, and what never reaches us at all.
The short version: we never receive your name, email, phone number or password, and we do not store the content of your video conversations. What we do hold is technical: enough to carry a call, investigate abuse reports and fix faults.
1. Introduction & Scope
CoomeChat is a random video chat that pairs two strangers on live one-to-one video in a browser. There is no account, no sign-up and no profile, and that shapes this entire policy. Most privacy policies run long because the service holds a lot about you. This one is mostly a list of things we never receive in the first place.
This policy explains what reaches us when you use CoomeChat, what happens to it, and what you can ask us to do about it. By using the service you confirm you have read it. If you do not agree with it, please stop using the service.
2. What We Do Not Collect
Because CoomeChat has no registration step, the following never reach us at all. Not stored somewhere secure. Not collected:
- Your name, or any display name or nickname
- Your email address or phone number
- A password, since there are no accounts and nothing to log into
- Your date of birth or gender
- A profile, an avatar, a photo album, or a bio
- Contacts, social accounts, or anything imported from another service
There is also nothing published on CoomeChat under your name, because there is nowhere to publish. The service has no posts, no comments, no public profile pages and no content library. Unlike most platforms, nothing you do here can be indexed by a search engine and attached to you.
3. What We Do Collect
Running a live video service still requires some information. This is the complete list.
3.1 Technical Information, Collected Automatically
- Device signature: an identifier we derive from technical characteristics your browser exposes — graphics and audio rendering, available fonts, memory, screen and platform details. It is not linked to a name, an email or an account, because there are none here. With no accounts to ban, this is how a service like ours keeps a device removed for abuse from simply returning, and how we tell automated traffic from real people. Unlike a cookie, it is not cleared when you clear your browser data.
- Device and browser: device type, operating system, browser and version, screen size, and language. These let us deliver a working video call and diagnose faults.
- Approximate location: a country or region derived from your IP address. We do not request precise device-level location from your browser.
- Connection and log data: IP address, access times, and technical events such as a call failing to connect.
- Usage data: which pages you opened and basic interaction events, used in aggregate to understand how the service is used.
3.2 Information You Choose to Give Us
- Reports: when you report someone from a call, we receive your report and the technical details of that session.
- Emails to support: whatever you write to us, and the address you send it from. That address is yours, not ours. We did not have it before you wrote.
3.3 Payment Information
If you buy coins or any optional extra, payment is handled by a third-party payment provider. We receive a record that a transaction occurred; we never receive or store your full card number. The provider's own privacy policy governs what it holds.
4. What the Other Person on the Call Sees
The main privacy question on a random video chat is not what we hold. It is what the stranger opposite you can see, and that is worth being blunt about.
Your video feed while the call is running. That includes your room, anything on the wall behind you, and anyone else who walks into frame.
Everything audible on your side while the call is running, not only what you say deliberately.
Anything you tell them or hold up to the camera. Nothing forces you to share a name, a city or a social account. That decision is yours each time.
We never ask for it, so there is nothing on our side to show anyone. If they learn it, it is because you said it.
No sign-up means no contact details reach us, and none can be exposed to another user.
There are no accounts, so there is no password to steal, reuse or leak.
No profile, no avatar, no album, no follower list. Nothing exists for anyone to look you up in afterwards.
A country or region derived from your IP address. Used for operations and abuse investigation, not displayed to the person you match with.
Browser, device type and connection details, used to carry the call and diagnose faults. Never shown to another user.
We cannot prevent the person you are matched with from recording their own screen, and neither can you. That is true of every video call on any service. Treat anything you show on camera or say out loud as something that could be kept by someone else. Anonymity protects you until you hand it away, so think before giving out your name, your city, your workplace or your social accounts.
5. Your Video Calls
We do not store the content of your video conversations. When a call ends, whether you skipped or closed the page, that conversation is over. There is no history for you to look back on, and none for us either. This is also why we cannot help you reconnect with someone you just met.
What we do hold about a call is technical: that a session took place, when, from roughly where, and whether it succeeded or failed. That is what lets us investigate abuse reports and fix faults.
If you report someone, that technical record is what we look at. A report filed long after the fact is much harder to act on, which is why reporting during or right after a call matters.
6. How We Use Information
- To run the service: match you with someone, carry the call, and keep it working on your device.
- To keep people safe: investigate reports, detect abuse and automated accounts, and remove people who break the Community Guidelines.
- To fix and improve things: diagnose faults and understand in aggregate which parts of the service work.
- To process payments for optional purchases.
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not build an advertising profile about you, and we do not sell your information.
8. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers: the companies that host the service, carry video traffic, process payments and provide analytics, acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality.
- Legal requirements: where required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public, or us. Serious safety cases may be referred to law enforcement, in particular anything involving a minor.
- Business transfers: if the service is merged, acquired or sold, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
- Aggregated data: statistics that cannot reasonably be used to identify anyone.
9. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires.
- Conversation content: not retained. It is not stored when the call ends.
- Technical and session records: retained for a limited period for abuse investigation, fault diagnosis and security, then deleted or anonymised.
- Reports: retained while the report is being handled and for a period afterwards, so that repeat behaviour can be recognised. Records tied to serious violations may be kept longer where needed to cooperate with law enforcement.
- Payment records: retained as long as tax, accounting and anti-fraud rules require.
- Support emails: retained while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Because there is no account, there is no stored profile to delete and nothing that accumulates about you over time between visits.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy of it.
There is an honest limitation here. With no account, we usually have no way to connect a request to a particular person. We cannot look you up by a name or an email we never had. To act on a request we may need enough detail to identify the relevant records, such as the approximate date and time of a session, or the email address and transaction reference from a purchase. If we cannot identify the data as yours, we may have to decline, and we will explain why rather than guess.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by the law that applies to you. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Children's Privacy
CoomeChat is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, or under the applicable minimum age where you live, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.
If you believe you were matched with a minor, end the call and report them immediately. That is the fastest route and it reaches a moderator. You can also email [email protected]. If we learn that we hold information from someone underage, we delete it and remove their access.
12. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and loss, including encryption of data in transit, access controls on our systems, and restricting internal access to those who need it.
No service on the internet is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. What limits your exposure here more than anything we do is the design: there is no account to break into, no password of yours for anyone to steal, and no stored conversation history to leak.
13. Third-Party Services
CoomeChat relies on third parties for hosting and content delivery, video transport, payment processing, and analytics. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
Pages here may link to sites we do not operate, and another user may try to send you to one during a call. This policy does not cover those sites. Be particularly careful with any link a stranger sends you mid-call.
14. Policy Updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, the law, or how we operate. When we do, we update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Because there is no account, we have no way to email you about a change. If this matters to you, check back here from time to time. Continuing to use CoomeChat after a change means you accept the updated policy.
15. Contact Us
For any question or request about this policy or about how your information is handled, email us. Please include enough detail for us to find the relevant records. With no account, that context is what we have to work from.
